care of textiles + garments
homepsun handwoven cotton
Because cotton is so strong when wet, caring for cotton is very simple and the more you wash it, the softer and more absorbent it becomes. All our cottons should be washed in cold water. Hand wash is always preferred but gentle machine wash is ok, since the fabric is handmade it needs to be treated with care. Some shrinkage may occur in first wash for this reason we never encourage dryers. Always use eco detergents, if necessary for whites use non-chlorine bleach which is less harsh on your fabrics and the environment. Line dry. Cool iron.

FOR BLOCKPRINTS Eco dryclean or can be cold water handwashed with garments turned inside out and like colors separated. If handwash, then with a gentle soap or eco detergent as the dyes are natural and will endure longer if no harsh chemicals are used to clean them. We also suggest herbal shampoos in the case nothing else is available. Line dry in shade. Cool iron.
homepsun handwoven silk
Overall, silk is the strongest natural fiber, has a beautiful drape and is naturally crease resistant. The drawback of silk is that it loses its strength when wet and therefore needs to be treated especially gentle during laundering. All our silks should preferably be eco drycleaned or if must, gently handwashed in cold water. Some shrinkage may occur in first wash. We also strongly recommend shampoo for silk wash & care. Line dry. Cool Iron or steam.
